When you call O’Brien & Co., one of our designers will schedule a time to visit with you to hear your thoughts, combine ideas and experience your outdoor space. Once our ideas fit your needs and dreams we will hand craft a landscape plan and proposal specifically for you.

Why have a landscape plan?

All of O’Brien & Co.’s landscape plans are hand drawn designs. Hand drawn plans allow us not only to be creative, but give us a chace to think in depth about your project. These are not template design ideas, but a scaled representation of your property's possbilities and solutions. This plan will be a road map for your outdoor space.

Do you charge for your landscape plans?

Yes. Like all other design disciplines, we charge for our design services as our time is valuable. This investment guarantees our commitment to you and to your project. Your plan is yours to keep.

What size jobs do you work on? Is there any garden too big or too small?

We love small gardens: it tests our ability to be creative and use space efficiently. We love large gardens: it lets us experiment with new ideas and spread our wings. We’ve worked on everything from rooftop gardens in downtown Chicago to large estates in Lake Forest.

What are your crews capable of building? Is there anything you don’t build?

We build everything for the outdoors: plantings, terraces, retaining walls, walkways, steps, porches, stoops, fireplaces and outdoor kitchens. We also work closely with a number of subcontractors to provide any services we can't provide. We thrive on new construction challenges. We will find the right way to build anything.

Where do all of O’Brien & Co.’s resources come from?

As a small, local business, we have a large respect for those who are trying their hand at something they love to do. We support local growers / suppliers and recycle eveything we can. Our office uses 100% recycled paper for everyting and our diesel turcks run on Biodiesel fuel.
